Spain: La Palma volcano lava forms 500-metre delta as it crashes into sea *AERIAL FOOTAGE*

Aerial footage filmed on Wednesday shows the over 500-metre delta formed by the lava from the Cumbre Vieja volcano after reaching the sea at Los Guirres beach, an area of cliffs in Tazacorte. Since the eruption began on September 19, the lava bursting from the volcanic craters has caused the evacuation of almost 6,000 people and has devastated around 250 hectares. On Tuesday the Council of Ministers approved the declaration of a catastrophe zone for the island of La Palma and announced a package of economic and social aid, including 10.5 million euros in assistance for families who have lost their homes. Officials asked residents who haven’t yet been evacuated to stay inside their homes with the windows closed amid fears of toxic fumes as the lava reaches the ocean. #CumbreVieja #Volcano #LaPalma #Eruption #CanaryIslands Video ID: 20210929-038 Video on Demand:
