Smoke billowed from several areas in the north of the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Sunday, in the wake of the first Saudi-led airstrikes following the expiration of a 72-hour-long ceasefire, according to reports that cite officials and local residents. The latest airstrikes occurred hours after the end of the truce and on the same day that UN special envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed is scheduled to arrive in Sanaa.
