Eminem’s music making process is crazier than any other artist in the industry. Akon said Eminem treats rap like a 9 to 5 job and is always the first one at the studio. When most rappers are just arriving, Eminem has already been grinding for hours. But Eminem’s music process gets even crazier, Eminem isn’t good at keeping thoughts in his head so he always has a notebook on him and writes raps when they come to him. Rihanna said Eminem has so much information in his head that music is the perfect release for him. But Eminem doesn’t just write his own music, he also produces it. Most rappers just record their lyrics and then let producers make the rest of their songs but 50 Cent said Eminem is a lab rat and is involved in every aspect of the music making process. Eminem doesn’t even know how to play instruments so he hums his beats to his producers. Eminem sits next to his producers in every recording session and tells them how to mix his tracks. Rick Rubin said this is because Eminem’s lyrics are so rhythmical and complex that only Eminem knows how to mix them exactly right.
