Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination

Short cool music video by John Wilkes Booth showing the assassination of the 16th President of the United States by Booth on April 14, 1865. President Lincoln was attending the play: “Our American Cousin“ at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, When Booth crept up behind him and shot him in the head as he watched the play, he died the following morning at around 7:20 am, in the Petersen House opposite the theater. This was the first ever assassination attempt on a U.S. president’s life to be successful, his funeral and burial marked an extended period of national mourning. Booth fled on horseback to southern Maryland and, 12 days later, at a farm in rural northern Virginia, was tracked down sheltered in a barn. Booth’s companion surrendered but Booth yelled that he refused to be taken alive! after the authorities set the barn on fire to flush him out one of the Union soldiers fatally shot him in the neck.
