2022 Opel Astra revealed with sharp look and diverse powertrains

Hey Guys, This is the all-new 2022 Opel Astra and to say it is a radical departure from its predecessor would be an understatement. One of the oldest cars in Europe’s hugely competitive compact segment is upgraded to the next generation, bringing an all-new design inside and out as well as revised chainstays. Once again assembled at home in Rüsselsheim, the sixth iteration of Opel’s popular Astra has all the ingredients to take on the giants of this category: Golf, Focus, Mégane and Octavia. It also has to fight with the mechanically linked Peugeot 308, both of which share the EMP2 platform, as both brands are part of Stellantis, the world’s fourth largest automaker. Even though their bones are quite similar, the designers did a great job of differentiating the two compact sedans. The French version takes a bolder approach while its German cousin plays it safe with a more streamlined appearance.
