Navene Koperweis - Entheos - ’Chemical Flashbacks’ (ALT VERSION!)

This was one of the first songs we wrote as a band, and appears on our 2015 EP ‘Primal’. Frank Costa who was our guitarist at the time, and myself wrote all the riffs together. We wrote all the songs for Animosity as well and that’s why this song has a more ‘old school’ vibe to it. Originally I had written the intro riff with a fiery straight double bass beat a la Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel). At the time I just couldn’t hack the double bass so I wound up writing a ‘creative’ beat which is what wound up on the EP. Over the years I made a point to get better at double bass and learn doubles, so naturally one of the first things I wanted to do was go back and submit that original intro beat. Another thing I played around with was adding more of a breakdown-ish chuggy part in the middle section which would go over better live and give more of a ‘climax’ to the song.
