The Lion Cascade in the Lower Park of Peterhof Grand Palace

The design of Andrei Stakenschneider The tall columns are carved from grey Serdobol granite. The capitols of the columns and the shallow fountain bowls are made from white Italian Carrara Marble. In the centre a statue of Aganippe (the nymph of a spring ) is placed. Streams of water flowed from the nymph’s jug and the jaws of the lions standing at the sides of the colonnade.
