eXTREME Beach Home

An updated version of an earlier posting of . . . A project I have been working on for some time now. This is my first attempt at anything significant using Google SketchUp Pro. “eXTREME Beach Home“, is an engineer challenging ’’ellipsoidal“ design with a huge potential for addressing the need for better built coastal or “Beach“ homes. The design is heavily influenced by the need to be structurally strong, high wind resistant, energy efficient, and have an elevated living area. The structural and dynamically engineered steel truss system that shapes the exterior of the building can be used to design a variety of shapes for both commercial and residential use. While this is still a concept home, comments are welcome. Feel free to contact me as well with questions regarding the design. All the designing and drawing was accomplished using Google SketchUp Pro. The resulting 3D model (20.5 MB File) was used to export illustrations to Google Layout and Apple QuickTime Pro.
