PTKM-1R Top-attack Anti-tank mine

ARMY-2021 International Military-Technical Forum is full of interesting novelties that otherwise could have gone unnoticed and in this video JSC Rosoboronexport unveils the PTKM-1R top-attack anti-tank mine. This is “smart ammunition“ that meticulously selects its target according to the given parameters. It won´t activate against a wheeled vehicle or a light tracked vehicle as its target is a heavy tank-type armour. The PTKM-1R is aiming at the least protected part of its victim – roof / turret. Firstly, the mine is propelled into the air upon approach of the enemy tank and then the warhead is detonated striking the target from above.
