Discover Another Nalanda University Of India. Ratnagiri is a site in the Jajpur district of Odisha, India. It’s a Buddhist center and site of a ruined mahavihara, which was once the main Buddhist monastery in modern Odisha. Ratnagiri is located on a hill between the Birupa and Brahmani rivers, and is part of the Buddhist Diamond Triangle, along with Udayagiri and Lalitgiri. The site includes a Buddhist circuit of stupas, monasteries, and chaityas, and is known for its Tantric cult Buddhism, also known as Vajrayana. Ratnagiri also has an archaeological museum, which is one of the important site museums of the Archaeological Survey of India.
