Goldmark - Trauermarsch (Funeral March) from the opera Merlin

This is the closing scene of the opera “Merlin“ by Hungarian Jewish composer Karl Goldmark (1830-1915). At this point in the opera, after Merlin was slain in battle, his distressed lover Viviane commits suicide. A funeral march ends the work. Gerd Schaller conducts the Philharmonie Festiva.
