Electric Light Orchestra | Secret Messages (Unofficial Remaster)
The Bug Club is extraordinarily excited to present ELO’s 1983 album Secret Messages, restored to its originally-intended double album form and lovingly remastered by us with our utmost care. Such a restoration has been awaited for 37 years - not even the 2018 re-release of the album was truly accurate to ELO’s original vision. With all interludes in their proper places, and all audio from the best-quality sources, we hope that you will enjoy participating in this journey as much as we enjoyed creating it. And as with every Bug Club upload, good things come to those who ask.
To open the album all about secrecy, betrayals, and lies, there was no choice besides the titular Secret Messages. Imbued with the album tag and a quiet overlude, the song gives the album an electric shock to jumpstart a pulse that refuses to stop until the LP’s final notes. The song also serves as a caution to the audience of the various easter eggs in the album. Secret Messages is one of the few songs which has enjoyed a popular legacy, being one of the tracks often included in compilation albums and still played occasionally at concerts for Jeff Lynne’s ELO. The Bug Club believes that we have kept that same spark and beauty, and we hope you enjoy.
