Speaking activities [ESL Preschool Lesson]

Students need to speak out loud by themselves and not just follow along in their heads while someone else speaks. It’s also important to lay the groundwork outside of dedicated ESL speaking activities. While young students are often comfortable diving straight into new tasks, adults may want to see it done first and mentally prepare. ESL students doing pair activities can often try to skive off doing the activity at hand. Shyer students can be tempted to let their partner do all the work. As far as the teacher is concerned, it can be tough making sure that the students who are actually working are speaking correctly. Games can be used to warm up the class before your lesson begins, during the lesson to give students a break when you’re tackling a tough subject, or at the end of class when you have a few minutes left to kill. #ESL #Games #Classroom
