Road Construction and Maintenance

Mechanical Concrete® is a breakthrough, patent protected, construction technology. It utilizes a cylinder made from waste auto tires to confine and integrate crushed stone, or other natural and recycled aggregates, into a permanent stone building unit. The result is a strong, economical construction and maintenance product for low volume roads. Nearly all road problems come from base failures. The Mechanical Concrete® with tire-derived-cylinders economically creates a virtually indestructible base so it virtually eliminates most low volume road problems, including: Potholes Ruts Ditch Collapse Shoulder Erosion Soft Sub-grade failures Ditch Scour Edge of Road Slips and Slides Engineering Specs Mechanical Concrete® offers a minimum 200 pounds per square inch (14.4 tons per square foot) working strength. Its load bearing capacity is limited primarily by the subgrade conditions. On average 10 to 12 typical size auto tires can create one cubic yard of Mechanical Concrete® and 12,000 tire-derived-cylinders create one 12 foot lane mile.
