Lift Every Voice and Sing - A Cappella (Berklee We Will Rise Summit)

Amanda Bradshaw’s arrangement of “Lift Every Voice and Sing“ originally written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson and later set to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson. Lift Ev’ry Voice - considered the Black National Anthem - is a masterpiece born out of the Black experience and has served as a beacon of hope, perseverance, and strength for those disenfranchised folks over the last 100 years. As we face challenging times in our world, we turn to this hymn to direct our path and re-galvanize our efforts in creating a better place where each of us have our full humanity. This arrangement was part of the We Will Rise Summit: Black Artists and the Soul of Our Music. Watch the full event here: “Lift Every Voice and Sing“ (R. Johnson and J.
