The release candidate, the final version of GNOME 46, codenamed “Kathmandu”, which was announced two weeks ago , was announced by Matthias Clasen. Clasen stated that a new version of the GNOMEdesktop environment has been released with new applications and new events; He said this version offers remote login with RDP, variable refresh rates (VRR), many accessibility improvements, enhanced notifications and improved settings. Clasen stated that the Files application comes with a new global search and many other improvements, and that many new applications have joined GNOME Circle 2; He suggested reviewing the release notes to learn more about the changes in GNOME 46 . Clasen stated that GNOME 46 will soon be available in many distributions such as Fedora 40; He said that they thanked those who contributed from all over the world.
