Young women from Nigeria are promised jobs and a bright future in Europe, but ultimately end up engaged in prostitution. They come to refugee reception centres in the EU, then disappear. There is something that binds them all. Before leaving their homeland, the girls get involved into ancient witchcraft rituals. They are so frightened by their experiences that they refuse to talk to the police, and don’t resist what happens to them. On the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, we investigate this crisis.
