CARO EMERALD & ALAIN CLARK I Got You Babe

Dutch supremos Caro Emerald and Alain Clark weave their respective magic on a cover of the Sonny & Cher classic ’I Got You Babe’. This post is for me a way to mark ten years of music from Caro Emerald in my life. Discovering her quite by chance (always the best way), her songs and style have been such a significant musical accompaniment to my life this last decade - one that has seen the trauma of cancer, losing a parent and experiencing middle age with all its ups and downs. As ever, pop music is the panacea, and the wonderfully morphed genres that Caro has performed has been just the tonic for me. Her ability to swing from pop to R&B to Jazz and back , swing is just breathtaking. This recording is taken from an acoustic set that the pair did in Alain’s ’Safe Place’ in the middle of 2020. I couldn’t resist their version of Sonny & Cher’s iconic hit.
