China’s space laboratory Tiangong-2 and its carrier rocket Long March 2F were transferred to the launch pad at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Friday. The fully assembled space lab and rocket moved vertically for 1.5 hours along the 1,500-meter seamless rail tracks, a process done slowly to ensure stability. Tiangong-2 and Long March 2F will now undergo final checks before the rocket fuel-loading process. The launch is scheduled for mid-September.
