Buy now from Beatport: iTunes release on 3/3/14! GEN - EVA on Facebook: Eva Guss takes the leap from the acoustic world of her alter ego Eva Las Vegas to the production realm of GEN-EVA for her debut Vicious Black release. Inspired by her love of underground electronic music GEN-EVA was originally intended as a project name to remix her original acoustic material. The result, a new creative new project in the electronic realm with influences from her Eva Las Vegas acoustic counterpart. Her debut single with Vicious Black “The You I Knew“ started life as an original blues track written about a friend who is no longer a friend. Remixed and re-invented, GEN-EVA has resampled her own guitar to create new synth and guitar parts in the new version, produced the entire new electronic bed and added her haunting, emotive vocal. In addition to the Original and Acoustic version, the package is topped off with a wicked deeper take from production maestro Retza which takes things even deep and backs the mix with a super deep bassline. All up “The You I Knew“ is a very cool debut from GEN-EVA, a welcome addition to the Vicious Black increasing pool of underground artists. Specialising in underground sounds, Vicious Black presents deep house, tech and purely club focused tracks to the world. Releases and remixes on the label have come from Benson, Juliet Fox, (John Course), Maze & Masters, Juliet Sikora & Retza. We understand that not all music is the same to all people and Vicious Black is focused on the sounds for the more adventurous ears, the sounds likely to be heard on a pounding system at 5am in a dark room anywhere from Australia to Berlin.
