🎸 DOWNLOADABLE GUITAR TABS FOR THIS SONG: Even though this song was first released in the early 80’s, Chris Stapleton really made it his own, and I just love the tasteful blend of country, gospel, soul, R&B, and blues that he brought to his arrangement. It’s as much Etta James and Sam Cooke as it is David Allan Coe or George Jones. I borrowed some riffs from Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind,“ since it’s such a similar arrangement. Trying to recreate Chris Stapleton’s vocal melody with the guitar was some of the best melodic education I’ve ever gotten.. the control he has over pitch and inflection is incredible!
