Today will take a walk on beautiful beach Misericordia (Malaga, Spain). This beach owes its name, possibly, to the location of a provincial shelter and hospice called Casa de la misericordia, built at the beginning of the twentieth century and in operation until 1978. Today, the building is a civic center. Misericordia beach reaches about 2000 m. and about 30 m. wide. It is one of the most popular beaches in Malaga and its promenade, and some of the chimneys that remain from the industrial Malaga of the nineteenth century are also preserved. This beach with dark sand stands out for the old smokestack you can spot on the coastline. Furthermore, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
