The beautiful La Malagueta beach is located between the Port of Málaga and La Caleta beach. It is one of the most famous beaches for both tourists and locals. The beach has dark sand and moderate swells. It is 1200 meters long and an average of 45 meters wide. During the 19th century the neighborhood of La Malagueta was occupied by sugar factories, warehouses, shipyards and other industrial productions. At the end of the century they built the Hospital Noble and Plaza de Toros, commencing the transformation into what is now the district of La Malagueta. This beach is next to the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga, Spain’s oldest yacht club. During the hot seasons there are rental services for hammocks and parasols as well as water sports equipment.
