Beyond The Bitter Brew

(If you happen to stumble upon any other versions of this song—of which I made three—please let me know in the comments which one you like the most... I liked them all so much that it was impossible to choose 😓) Groaning, I rose as the east burned red Peeking out at the world through a skull-throbbed head Coffee steam swirls, a thought-filled shroud The bitter brew bears the storm-laden cloud Life’s tangled threads, twisting in its depths Will this day bring burdens, or long-awaited breaths? Suddenly, beyond the pane, I see God explain! A flash of feathered delight A nest I spy, my heavy thoughts take flight Yes, with just one seed, a feathered soul He bursts with song, his heart made whole!
