455. Unlock the Secrets of Violet and Interference Colors - Ooh La La! / fluid art
#fluidart #bloomtechnique #sheleeart
Hi guys! This is the second painting using Quinacridone Violet and the new This Little Piggy Stuck Up Pigs in the color Hoity-Toity. LOL I love that name. This is an 18x24 single bloom blowout on a cradled wood panel. I think this one is prettier than the one in the last video; I’ll show them together in a future video once they are resined and frames. Loving the simple 4-color combo of this one--let me know what you think!

Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate: PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); and Valspar High Gloss Ultra Base C Untinted base (Lowe’s). 50/50. Mix well. NO varnish added!
Brands/Colors mixed:
Pigments: For a 3 oz cup I add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of pigment powder to the cup, then add enough gloss varnish (any brand; I use JoSonja gloss varnish) to cover the powder. Mix well until all pigment is thoroughly wet; then add the pouring medium.
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Iridescent Bright Gold (transparent), Teal, and Quinacridone Violet (transparent). This Little Piggy Stuck Up Pig pigment in Hoity Toity (opaque).
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick I add a squirt of Golden’s High Flow Medium (thins and extends acrylic colors) and stir well. All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Color: Australian Floetrol TriArt Carbon Black. Not quite 3:1 Floetrol to paint.
