Autonomous transportation service on open roads in city center Verdun | Transdev

The Grand Verdun local authority in France, the City of Verdun and Transdev have deployed, during summer 2018, a shared autonomous transport service. In France, it was a first in a city center on open roads for an operation longer than two months. The autonomous shuttle ran on open roads in real traffic conditions, sharing the road with cars, buses from the public transportation network TIV, bicycles and pedestrians. This autonomous transportation service transported 3 528 passengers out of 1678 km and received a satisfaction rate of 8,6/10 (200 passengers surveyed).
