Australia looking to increase ties with Japan

Defence Minister Richard Marles has signalled Australia would like to see Japan included in the AUKUS pact between the US and UK. He’s intent on growing Australia’s defence industry integration with Japan, both bilaterally and trilaterally through mechanisms like the AUKUS pact.
