As smoke disappears, let them disappear; as wax melts from the face of fire, so may demons perish from the face of those who love God and who are marked by the sign of the cross, and in joy say: Rejoice, Most Honorable and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, that drives away demons by the power of crucified Lord Jesus Christ on you, who t descended down to hell and defeated the power of the devil, and who gave us His Honest Cross to drive out every adversary.
