Tchaikovsky: Souvenir de Florence - Amsterdam Sinfonietta / Candida Thompson - Live Concert HD
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote his String Sextet ‘Souvenir de Florence’ in the summer of 1890. He dedicated the work to the St. Petersburg Chamber Music Society, right after he became Honorary Member. One of the movements of the piece was written while Tchaikovsky resided in Florence - hence the title of the work. It has been arranged for string orchestra and ensemble Amsterdam Sinfonietta performed it Sunday the 17th of February in Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
