Winds in the galaxy IC5063 driven by a black hole jet

This video shows what happens to the gas in a galaxy when the jet of a black hole propagates in it. The jet consists of charged particles (electrons/protons) that were caught in magnetic field lines as they were inflowing towards the black hole, and they were ejected outwards in the shape of a beam with high velocities. The beam is shown in red. The white, dense clouds form the disk of the galaxy.
