Aikido in slow motion: Techniques against JO (staff) attacks, JO DORI, by Stefan Stenudd

JODORI (杖取り) is aikido defense techniques against attacks with jo, the Japanese staff. Here I show a number of them in slow motion. I did the techniques in normal tempo, and slowed them down considerably in editing. All through, the only attack is choku tsuki, a strike with the attacker’s both hands in the same positions. In jodo, there is also kaeshi tsuki, where the front hand is reversed, as well as a number of swings, called uchi. But they are all dealt with in much the same way.
