Major General Robert Clive 1725 to 1774 Helped Britain gain India but Committed Suicide at age 49

We visit the UK! Walked past this statue of a chap called Clive. Had no idea who he was (didn’t study British history) but I made a short video anyway. Came back home to do the research and learnt a few things from this website - Robert Clive: The nabob general A courageous, resourceful and ruthless military commander, Major-General Robert Clive helped secure an Indian empire for Britain. He eventually became an imperial statesman, but also a greedy speculator who used his political and military influence to amass a fortune. Clive started his career as a clerk in the East India Company (Madras), and then became a General leading troops. No idea how that happened.
