Mattias IA Eklundh - Terra Incognita (feat. B.C. Manjunath and Yogev Gabay)

Terra Incognita. The middle section of this tune is among the hardest things I have ever played. An utter tuplet inferno. The (wonderfully insane) rhythm derives from a structure my astounding friend B.C. Manjunath could only come up with it and it blew my mind completely. I simply had to compose a Freak Guitar Camp tune around it, basically to face my fear and share the sweet terror with the innocent campers. To help the lovely Freak Guitar Camp participants fathom what the heck is going on, my other incredible friend and sidekick Yogev Gabay made a video for them with his amazingly clever marker pen way to explain tricky rhythms. It’s really (an understatement if there ever was one) hard to keep the quarter note pulse through this, or as Manjunath himself puts it: “tough cookie“.
