World’s biggest hurricane simulator aims to improve forecasts

A massive indoor hurricane simulator is now up-and-running, developed by the School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami. Experts hope it can predict a storm’s strength and ferocity, from the safety of indoors. The giant aquarium should be able to recreate conditions of storms blowing up to 240 kilometers per hour.
