Last week I walked down to “The North Sea“ to shoot some scenes to suit the last lively, joyful part of this suite. The nexy morning we woke up to the sad news. A ship had sunk during the night “på Slettå“ (where I had filmed. Two of the three sailors were resqued, but the captain has not been found. I’m deeply influenced by the tragedie and I chosed the slow movement for the ending of this YT-video.
René Mesangeau (or Mezangeau, Mesangio, Mésengeot, Mesengé, Meziniot, Meschanson, Mesangior) (fl. 1567 -- 1638) was a French composer and lutenist. He is considered to be one of the finest lutenists of the 17th century.
In 1619, he settled in France and married the daughter of the spinet maker Jean Jacquet. In 1621, he was appointed musicien ordinaire du roi at the French court by Louis XI
