Rene Gruau, Karl Lagerfeld and David Downton are masters in their field. Their drawings are a particular form of art that represents glamour and beauty. Gruau, arguably the grandmaster of Fashion illustration, part French, part Italian renounced his aristocratic and privileged position (his father being an Italian Count) and chose the artistic life in Paris.
