Houthi rebels ’shoot down’ US reaper drone in Yemen

Yemen’s Houthis on Saturday (April 27) released footage they claim shows an American MQ-9 drone being shot down in Yemeni airspace. The video, posted on Telegram, showed a screen-view of an object being hit in the night sky. An additional video showed a bright object travelling through the night sky, before hitting another object. The group claims the downing of the aircraft took place over Saana in the late hours of Thursday (April 25). The group also released footage of an unidentified militant assessing a damaged aircraft and debris field on the ground.
