China firmly rejects U.S. approval of Taiwan related bill

China has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the U.S. Senate’s recent approval of a bill on Taiwan, which directs the U.S. Secretary of State to develop a strategy to regain observer status for Taiwan in the World Health Organization. Beijing says the bill interferes in China’s internal affairs and gravely violates the one-China principle, China-U.S. joint communiques as well as international law and the basic norms governing international relations.
