Not everybody will be able to do the side splits in the first 8 minutes. But if you don’t have much left, you never tried PNF, or if you had your side splits down before but lost them again, then it may work the first time. Do this flexibility workout 3 times per week. Everybody can achieve the middle splits within 3 months, even beginners. You can stretch every day, but do other, lighter workouts without isometric stretches on other the days. It’s normal to feel a bit sore the next day. That’s why it’s very important to warm up and don’t get hurt. Don’t swing and don’t bounce. Breathe deep and slowly, don’t hyperventilate, and don’t cry.
