USA defeat Finland at the Hartwall Arena in the Preliminary Round group H match. Joe Sacco’s team won in clinical fashion against the co-host nation thanks to a Craig Smith hat trick and 31 saves made by goalie Jonathan Gibson. Jarno Koskiranta scores for the Finns but it was a useless effort.
