Preschool Music Lesson: Open, Shut Them - Musicplay PreK

Open Shut Them is one of the action songs in Musicplay PreK Part 1. In the lesson, I first read the storybook, “Opposites“ by Erik Carle, then I teach the song. When they know the song well, invite them to think of other opposites that you could use as new verses. This set of 12 lessons for teaching music to preschool or PreK includes 52 songs, poems, fingerplays, instrument activities, stories, listening selections and much more for teaching music to children aged 3-5. The Teacher’s Guide/CD is available as a book/CD and as a download. The teacher’s guide includes the lesson outlines, song suggestions, and many teaching suggestions.
