Russian Federation, 2017 Donate & Support: The song by the “ArktidA“ band dedicated to the feat of the 226th Zemlyansky Regiment in the battle at the Osovets (Osowiec) fortress, commonly known as the “Attack of the Dead Men“. During this battle, the Russian soldiers who survived the gas attack were able to repell the Germans advancing on the fortress, having thrown themselves into the last decisive counterattack, being mortally poisoned. For a long time, this heroic action remained practically unknown, since it contradicted official Soviet historiography about the Russian army in the Great War, and only recently it became known to the general public.
