The Rescuers Down Under (1990) - ’Cody’s Flight’ scene
The fact that this wasn’t a musical is probably one of the reasons why it wasn’t as successful as the other Disney classics released during the same period (this was released right after Little Mermaid and just before Beauty and the Beast). But it featured a wonderful score by Bruce Broughton, who distilled the harsh outback as well as the soaring golden eagle in his brilliant music. This early scene set the tone for the outdoor adventure that was to come.
Starring the vocal talents of Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor, John Candy and George C. Scott. Music by the never-disappointing Bruce Broughton, in one of his most high-profile assignments.
