Fortifications of Vauban - UNESCO World Heritage Site

This UNESCO World Heritage site is a collection of fortifications designed by Sebastian de Vauban, a French military engineer of the 17th century. The forts were ordered by King Louis XIV, and are located on all of France’s borders - north, south, east, and west. There’s a huge variation too, with river forts, mountain forts, city forts and plains forts. Let’s go!
