GIBRALTAR WASTE OIL TANK EXPLOSION & FIRE - INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS MAKES HASTY DEPARTURE
On Tuesday 31 May 2011 an explosion occurred at a Waste Oil plant in Gibraltar near to where Independence of the Seas was berthed. Within minutes, the captain made an announcement, ordering everyone off the open decks and passengers where injured as a result of the explosion. Within 5 minutes she slipped her moorings leaving two passengers ashore. This video shows those moments as the cruise ship makes its hasty departure.
