Nowadays it is hard to imagine that a conductor who was known as a pioneer of Mahler, Schönberg and the avant-garde was one of the first to record Bach cantatas. This is one of his finest.
The recording is available on CD by Archipel, but I think their transfer is a bit too flat in pitch. Obviously they set it to A = 440 Hz, but in Vienna a higher concert pitch was usual. According to my calibration, my speed is the correct one - the movements are a few seconds shorter than in the Archipel edition.
