I wonder how many people know that this was composed by Henry VIII. Yes, THAT Henry VIII. The King Of England in the 1500s. Not the composer you were expecting, eh? Yes, he was cultured and quite an accomplished musician. He was a very different person after his jousting accident. Before that, he was generally very likeable and also well-liked. The words are his words. They speak to me through the centuries!
