What Is Consciousness?

What is consciousness? Is our present self-awareness real? Where does our consciousness originate from? What is the actual force or quality that permeates reality? What is spiritual attainment? What is consciousness? There is this thing we call life, and there is this feeling about life. There is a definition of what we call consciousness, which is my self-awareness on this material level. But there are other, higher types of awareness which we are not aware of. They are not about the awareness of my own existence. The awareness of my own existence is a kind of fallacy of perception; it is a false perception. I am not the owner of this sensation of life. We are like branches, and our awareness comes out of some kind of roots. Everything that flows through us and that we sense ourselves in certain forms, we are simply receiving this perception. Our life and awareness are not owned by us, and it is not our consciousness until we come to agree with the quality that is the actual definition of consciousness. We should even put the notion of consciousness aside since it is an inadequate term. The Wisdom of Kabbalah uses the term “bestowal”. This is a force that is a feeling, intelligence, meaning, and purpose all at once. This is what fuels all of life from a single source. This is what we feel, more or less, when we think of consciousness.
