Opal Miner Hits Underground Cascade Of Dirt Filled With Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Gems!

A new season on the opal field begins and I must say we are filled with hope, at the possibility that this year will be the year we find the big one! To kick things off myself and JC head down into the family opal mine in an attempt to make some quick money fossicking for opal in old timer backfill. We spend considerable time sieving by hand with an old school shaker table. To our great excitement we discovered quite a few killer gems along with fossil wood and specimens pieces. While underground we also had to do a little work on our kanga loader replacing a tyre which with the proper tool for the job was easy done!
