THE LOST WEST WALL WHAT WAS IT REALLY

The Siegfried Line or West Wall was the massive German bunker and fortress construction of defensive facing West. Initially envisaged to mirror the Ostwall, but the designs changed and events overtook the completion of what was planned. But the depiction of the West Wall today is mostly wrong, it was claimed poorly defended and inconsequential but this is far from the case. It was a vast 6 month long battlefield towards the end of the war, and over the next 4 episodes I am going to try and clarify exactly what the West Wall actually was, what the constructions were, the bunkers and huge forts.
